Sprite has announced it is dropping its iconic green bottle for good

After more than 60 years of development, Sprite will abandon its iconic green bottle packaging and replace it with a more environmentally friendly transparent container. From Monday, the lemonade will also receive updated logo and packaging design, but its familiar emerald hue will still be used on the label. Current bottles contain green polyethylene terephthalate (PET), which is usually recycled only to disposable products, rather than other bottles. Sprite has changed from green bottles to transparent plastic bottles in some foreign markets. For specific flavors, such as cherry and sugar free, only transparent plastic bottles are used.

Presumably, this decision is also the result of many discussions. Simply from the visual analysis, transparent taste will appear very ordinary and low-key. From the consumption level, white does not have the feeling of green and cool. To a certain extent, it is not easy to attract attention and stimulate the desire to buy. From the perspective of environmental protection, transparent color has less dyeing process than green, so environmental protection begins at the first step of production. In this way, does the production cost save some processes and time, so is the price expected to decrease? The above is only personal views, and many professional and detailed aspects may not be taken into account. Please understand, thank you.
