How To Choose The Most Suitable Pressure Gauge

here are two types of pressure gauges, one is mechanical and the other is electronic. Now let me talk about mechanical pressure gauges. Mechanical pressure gauges are divided into Bourdon tube pressure gauges and bellows. Pressure gauges, differential pressure gauges, diaphragm pressure gauges, diaphragm pressure gauges, etc. In the actual work, we generally need to confirm the following parameters:

First, dial diameter

The diameter of the dial is the diameter of the outer casing that we can default to. It is usually 50mm, 63mm, 100mm and 150mm. (I am listed in European standards, China and other countries will A little different)

Second, the shell material

The material of the outer pressure gauge is ABS (engineering plastic), carbon steel, 304 stainless steel and copper alloy. We need to choose the material of the pressure gauge according to the specific environment. Commonly used are ABS and 304 stainless steel.

Third, the connection method

The connection of the pressure gauge is divided into axial (back connection) and radial (bottom connection), but in reality, customers can choose some options according to the specific situation. If it is panel mounted, the axial can be selected. The flange side or the rear belt is fixed to the bracket, and the radial side can be selected from the front flange side or the rear fixed side.

Fourth, measuring medium

There are only two kinds of standard materials for pressure gauges, namely copper alloy and 304 stainless steel. If the medium you are measuring does not apply or corrode the two, you can use a pressure gauge together with a chemical seal (chemical seal). The function of the pressure measuring element is to prevent the measurement medium from contacting the measuring element without affecting the measurement of the medium pressure, thereby protecting the measuring element and extending the life of the measuring element.

Fifth, liquid filling

We found in some environments with relatively large mechanical vibrations that there are many pressure gauge dials filled with liquid. In fact, the main function of these liquids is to increase the resistance and effectively prevent the pointer of the pressure gauge from vibrating constantly, so that we can Accurate reading of pressure values. It is generally used in the vicinity of pumps or in environments where vibrations are severe.

Sixth, medium temperature

Generally, the measuring element of copper alloy has a measuring medium temperature of +80 degrees and stainless steel of +200 degrees. However, if the pressure gauge you select is a liquid-filled and shock-proof pressure gauge, the maximum temperature of the medium can only reach +100 degrees. If the temperature is too high, but it is to be shockproof, the method we use is to condense the bend.

Seventh, range

Since the pressure gauge is used to measure the deformation of the component, the amplifying mechanism is used to drive the rotation of the pointer to display the pressure value. We should also pay attention to the selection of the measurement range. The maximum pressure measured is 3/4 of the range of the pressure gauge. Or 2/3 is the most ideal. If the selection is large, the change of the pointer is small, and the pressure value read out is not accurate. If the selection is small, the pressure gauge will be damaged due to overload.

Eighth, connection size

Nowadays, because the thread standards of different countries are different, the main commonly used are M (metric), G (imperial), NPT (US), R (more used in Japan and Korea) and so on.
