How To Choose An Oil Filled Shock Resistant Pressure Gauge

When choosing an oil filled shock resistant pressure gauge, multiple factors need to be considered to ensure that it can meet the needs of practical applications. Here are some key selection points:

range
Firstly, the appropriate range should be selected based on the actual measured pressure range. Generally speaking, in order to ensure measurement accuracy and the service life of the pressure gauge, it is recommended to choose a range of 1.5 to 2 times the actual maximum pressure value. For example, if the maximum actual working pressure is 0.8 MPa, it is more appropriate to choose a pressure gauge with a range of 1.2 MPa to 1.6 MPa.
accuracy class
The precision level determines the accuracy of pressure gauge measurement. Common accuracy levels include 1.0, 1.5, 2.5, etc. For occasions with high precision requirements, such as laboratories, precision machining, etc., pressure gauges with 1.0 level or higher precision can be selected; For general industrial applications, levels 1.5 or 2.5 are usually sufficient to meet the requirements.
Dial size
Choose the dial size based on the installation location and observation distance. If installed in a distant location, a larger dial size is required for easy observation, such as 150mm or 200mm; if the installation space is limited and the observation distance is close, a smaller dial size, such as 60mm or 100mm, can be chosen.
interface type
The interface type of the oil filled shock resistant pressure gauge should match the pipeline or equipment of the measured medium. Common interfaces include M20 × 1.5 threaded interface, G1/2 interface, NPT1/4 interface, etc. When selecting, ensure that the interface size and connection method are correct to ensure the sealing and reliability of the installation.

Oil filling type
The purpose of oil filling is to reduce shock and damping, and protect the internal movement of the pressure gauge. The commonly used oil filling types are silicone oil and glycerin. Silicone oil has good high temperature resistance and chemical stability, making it suitable for high-temperature environments; Glycerol has good low-temperature performance and is not easily solidified in low-temperature environments. Choose the appropriate oil filling type based on the temperature conditions of the usage environment.
material
Shell material: Considering the corrosiveness and mechanical strength requirements of the usage environment, choose a suitable shell material. Common ones include stainless steel, chrome plated carbon steel, etc. Stainless steel material has good corrosion resistance and is suitable for environments with humidity or corrosive gases; Carbon steel chrome plated material has higher strength and better appearance.
Material of measuring components: The material of measuring components such as spring tubes is also important. For measuring corrosive media, corrosion-resistant materials such as stainless steel, Hastelloy, etc. should be selected; For general media, ordinary copper alloys or stainless steel materials can usually meet the requirements.
protection grade
If the pressure gauge is installed in harsh environments such as outdoors, humid environments, or dusty places, its protection level needs to be considered. The protection level is usually represented by IPXX, such as IP65 indicating a dust protection level of 6 and a waterproof level of 5. A higher level of protection can effectively protect the internal components of the pressure gauge from external environmental influences, improving its reliability and service life.
Brand and Quality
Choosing a well-known brand of oil filled and shock resistant pressure gauge usually ensures better quality and after-sales service. You can refer to the evaluations and usage experience of other users to understand the brand's reputation and product performance stability. Products from well-known brands have stricter production processes and quality control, ensuring the performance and reliability of pressure gauges.
