1. Basic Definition
Electric Contact Pressure Gauge is an integrated industrial instrument based on the Bourdon tube mechanical pressure gauge, equipped with built-in adjustable electrical contact components. It realizes two core functions simultaneously:
On-site real-time visual pressure indication;
Automatic circuit switching when pressure hits preset upper/lower limits to send alarm signals or drive equipment control. It is also widely called contact pressure gauge, alarm pressure gauge or pressure switch gauge.
2. Core Structure
The whole device consists of 5 main parts:
Measuring system: Bourdon tube (phosphor bronze/stainless steel), gear transmission mechanism;
Indication system: Dial, actual pressure pointer, 2 adjustable limit setting pointers (upper & lower threshold);
Electric contact assembly: Static contact pins, moving contact on pointer, magnetic snap-action module (magnetic-assisted type);
Adjustment unit: External tuning key on the window to set pressure thresholds arbitrarily within full scale;
Electrical junction box: Wiring terminal block for connecting relays, buzzers, pumps or contactors.
3. Working Principle
Medium pressure deforms the Bourdon tube, and displacement is amplified by gears to rotate the real-value pointer on dial;
Users adjust red/blue limit pointers to set target high/low pressure thresholds in advance;
When real pressure rises to upper limit / drops to lower limit, the moving contact on the measuring pointer touches the static contact pin of the setting pointer;
The external control circuit switches ON/OFF instantly, triggering actions: sound-light alarm, auto start/stop of compressors, water pumps, hydraulic valves, or safety interlock protection.
