How To Install A Pressure Gauge

The correct installation of the pressure gauge directly affects the accuracy of the measurement results and the service life of the pressure gauge. The key to the installation of the pressure gauge is the choice of pressure point:

(1) The pressure measuring point should be selected in the pipe section where the measured medium flows straight, and should not be selected in the turning, dividing or dead corner of the pipeline.

(2) When measuring the fluid pressure, the pressure point should be perpendicular to the flow direction, and the inner end surface of the pressure tube should be flush with the inner wall of the device, and there should be no protrusions or burrs.

(3) When measuring the liquid pressure, the pressure point should be in the lower part of the pipeline so that no gas is accumulated in the pressure guiding tube; when measuring the gas pressure, the pressure point should be above the pipeline so that no liquid is accumulated in the pressure guiding tube.

(4) A shut-off valve should be installed between the pressure-receiving port and the pressure gauge for use in maintenance pressure counting. The shut-off valve should be installed near the pressure tap. When measuring the steam pressure, a condensate tube should be installed to prevent the high temperature steam from directly contacting the load cell. For pressure measurement of corrosive media, an isolation tank with a neutral medium should be added.
