Recently, the archaeology of the site of Queyang City in the Qin and Han Dynasties in Shaanxi Province announced the discovery of a high-level flush toilet during the Warring States Period.
It is reported that the site of Queyang City in the Qin and Han Dynasties is located in Yanliang District, Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province. The remains of this toilet, which was cleared by archaeologists from the Institute of Archaeology of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences on the west side of Building 3, consists of two parts: the indoor toilet on the platform base and the outdoor sewage pit.
"We are also surprised at this discovery," said Liu Rui, a researcher at the Institute of Archaeology of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. Previously, during the archaeological work at the site of the city of Queyang, the archaeologists also found three bathrooms in the palace ruins. Combined with the "flush type" toilet relics found this time, we can see that people began to pay attention to sanitation 2400 years ago.

Due to the destruction of the late remains, the upper structure of the toilet seat has disappeared. Archaeologists have cleaned up the combined remains of the ceramic toilet and the elbow.
This is the only case of toilet remains found in the archaeology of imperial palaces in China, and also the first "flush type" toilet found by archaeology in China, about 2400 years ago.
