A water manometer is a device that measures the pressure of a gas by using a column of water. It typically consists of a U-shaped tube filled with water, with one end connected to the source of gas and the other end open to the atmosphere. As gas pressure is applied to one end, the water level in the opposite arm of the tube rises, indicating the pressure of the gas. The height of the water column is proportional to the pressure of the gas being measured. Water manometers are commonly used in HVAC systems, respiratory therapy, and other applications where precise pressure measurements are required.
