Limitations of 304 Stainless Steel Snubber in Food Processing Equipment

Not for high chloride media Brine for salted food production. High chloride ions cause pitting corrosion on 304 steel and rust spots, risking food contamination.

Limited for strong organic acid and high-concentration acid conditions Long-term exposure to high-concentration vinegar or citric acid will gradually corrode 304 stainless steel.

Avoid environment combining high temperature and high chloride High temperature plus salt medium accelerates corrosion greatly, 304 cannot serve stably for long time.

Incompatible with strong oxidants Pipelines with high-concentration hydrogen peroxide or sodium hypochlorite (strong disinfectant for food pipelines) will corrode 304 stainless steel.

Restriction on ultra-high temperature Long-term service above 800℃ reduces mechanical performance of 304. Normal steam temperature in food equipment is acceptable, but ultra-high temperature should be avoided.

Risk from surface damage Scratches break the passive film. Local rust may occur in moist food media. Prevent collision and scratch during installation.
