One of the most popular and reliable vacuum measurement instruments is the Ionization gauge. Ionization gauges are used to measure pressures ranging in the high vacuum region. They work by measuring the ionization current, which is the flow of current due to positively charged molecules in a gas. Another vacuum measurement instrument that has become widely used is a Pirani gauge. Pirani gauges are perfect for measuring lower vacuum pressures. These gauges operate by using heat transfer to sense pressure. When the pressure is lower, heat conductivity in the gas decreases, which causes resistance in the filament to increase. Pirani gauges are affordable, accurate, and provide fast measurements.
There is also the capacitance manometer that is widely used in research and industrial processes. These manometers measure pressure using the capacitance of a metal membrane. As pressure increases, the capacitance decreases proportionally. Capacitance manometers are well known for their high accuracy, stability, and reliability.

Two common reasons for gauge (and switch) failure are pipe vibration and water condensation, which in colder climates can freeze and damage the gauge housing. Figure 1 illustrates the design of both a traditional and a more reliable, "filled" pressure gauge. The delicate links, pivots, and pinions of a traditional gauge are sensitive to both condensation and vibration. The life of the filled gauge is longer, not only because it has fewer moving parts, but because its housing is filled with a viscous oil. This oil filling is beneficial not only because it dampens pointer vibration, but also because it leaves no room for humid ambient air to enter. As a result, water cannot condense and accumulate. Available gauge features include illuminated dials and digital readouts for better visibility, temperature compensation to correct for ambient temperature variation, differential gauges for differential pressures, and duplex gauges for dual pressure indication on the same dial. Pressure gauges are classified according to their precision, from grade 4A (permissible error of 0.1% of span) to grade D (5% error).

3. According to jjg52-1999, the calibration period of the pressure gauge installed at the pressure measurement site is generally no more than half a year. For manometers related to production safety and environmental monitoring, the verification period must follow verification procedures, which can be less than half a year. If conditions are bad, the verification period should be shorter.
4. If the media at the pressure measurement site fluctuates a lot, frequently USES, requires high precision and requires strict safety factors, the verification period can be appropriately shortened according to the specific circumstances.
